WORDS FROM THE DIRECTORS
Area Director of Willow Nurseries
I have been in Dubai for 6 years and I live with my husband and little girl, who also attends Willow. I have 18 years of experience in Early Years Education and with the EYFS British curriculum.
I started my journey in the childcare industry from the very young age of 16 in the UK. I immediately found my passion and have not looked back since! I started training in the nursery and gained my CACHE 2 and 3 in childhood studies and developed into the role as a Nursery Manager at the age of just 21. We gained OUTSTANDING in all areas in our OFSTED inspections and mentored a great team! I came to Dubai from being headhunted by an investor and opened up a brand new nursery in 2013. This was such an amazing experience and loved every minute of it. I came to Willow in 2016 and this really has been the best move I’ve made.
It is important to me that Willow Nurseries provide a caring and safe environment where children can grow and develop at their own pace. Watching a baby do something for the first time to watching the children leave to go to school ... every experience is unique and special. As Area Director I aim to deliver a high standard of care and education for all our children and create long-lasting partnerships with parents.
Nursery Manager of Willow Nursery, Umm Suqeim
Born and bred in Toronto, Canada, I become intrigued with early childhood education soon after the birth of my first son and sought out to become nothing short of an expert in the field as soon as I was given the chance.
With 17 years of experience in Early Years, a Cache Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education and a Cache Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management from the UK, I am driven by extensive experience, theoretical and practical knowledge. I started my career as a teacher, and then progressed to a coordinator, then to Deputy Manager and Nursery Manager.
As every child is unique, I am aligned with the ethos of Willow Children’s Nursery to ensure that every child who walks through our doors is provided with the right foundation and tools in a safe, inspiring, and personalised environment. It is in this very environment that children develop a love of learning; an environment that not only challenges children to be the best that they can be but myself as well.
Deputy Manager of Willow Nursery, Dubai Marina
I began working at Willow Marina in November 2016 as a class teacher, became Head Teacher in 2018 and am now Deputy Manager. I am originally from Scotland and completed my HNC in Early Education and Childcare in 2008.
I knew that childcare was the career for me when I done my high school work experience in a nursery school and didn’t want to leave. I love seeing the world through the eyes of children and experiencing the way their minds work. I am always proud to have played a part in helping a child become the best version of themselves.
As Deputy Manager I aim to always provide a safe stimulating environment in which children can learn and develop whilst allowing them to grow as individuals.
Deputy Manager of Willow Nursery, One Central
Been living and working in Dubai for the last 4 years. I started at Willow Umm Suqeim branch as a nursery teacher and then I moved to the Willow Marina branch to be the baby unit leader. I recently got promoted to Deputy Manager.
I am originally from the UK Birmingham and used to work as a support worker at the children’s hospital on ICA. I have always been very passionate about children and always wanted a career working with them. I moved to Spain then to Ireland before finally going back to the UK and working there for a few years in Child healthcare.
I now call Dubai my home and I can see myself here for the foreseeable future and progressing in my childcare career. I hold a Cached level 3 in childcare, and I will be starting my Cache level 5 in the coming months.
