WORDS FROM THE DIRECTORS
Area Director of Willow Nurseries
After 32 years of working in the Childcare industry, it is an absolute pleasure to now be the Area Director of Willow Children's Nurseries. I started my career back in 1987 in England and have remained dedicated and passionate about creating Outstanding practice and education for every child I have the pleasure of welcoming into my Nursery family.
The greatest satisfaction for me is seeing every child develop their individual strengths and their own sense of belonging as well as a recognition of who they are and will become. In what other vocation could I reap such wonderful rewards?
Here at Willow, we use the EYFS curriculum combined with the learning ethos of Reggio Emilia allowing our children to learn through curiosity and exploration at their own pace. The dedicated and highly professional team work extremely hard to ensure we are the best we can be at all times, I am proud to be part of this and of KidsFirst group here in Dubai.
Nursery Manager of Willow Nursery, Umm Suqeim
Born and bred in Toronto, Canada, I become intrigued with early childhood education soon after the birth of my first son and sought out to become nothing short of an expert in the field as soon as I was given the chance.
With 17 years of experience in Early Years, a Cache Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education and a Cache Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management from the UK, I am driven by extensive experience, theoretical and practical knowledge. I started my career as a teacher, and then progressed to a coordinator, then to Deputy Manager and Nursery Manager.
As every child is unique, I am aligned with the ethos of Willow Children’s Nursery to ensure that every child who walks through our doors is provided with the right foundation and tools in a safe, inspiring, and personalised environment. It is in this very environment that children develop a love of learning; an environment that not only challenges children to be the best that they can be but myself as well.
Nursery Director of Willow Nursery, Dubai Marina
I'm Emma and I am the nursery director at Willow Nursery in the Dubai Marina. I have been in Dubai for 4 years and I live with my husband and little girl.
I started my journey in the childcare industry from the very young age of 16 in the UK. I immediately found my passion and have not looked back since! I started training on the job and developed into the role as a nursery manager at the age of just 21. I gained OUTSTANDING in all areas in our OFSTED inspections and mentored a great team!
I have over 15 years of experience in the early years and with the British curriculum.
It is important to me that Willow Nursery provides a caring and safe environment where children can grow and develop at their own pace. Watching a baby do something for the first time to watching the children leave to go to school … every experience is unique and special. As nursery director I aim to deliver a high standard of care and education for all our children and create long-lasting partnerships with parents.
Deputy Manager of Willow Nursery, One Central
Been living and working in Dubai for the last 4 years. I started at Willow Umm Suqeim branch as a nursery teacher and then I moved to the Willow Marina branch to be the baby unit leader. I recently got promoted to Deputy Manager.
I am originally from the UK Birmingham and used to work as a support worker at the children’s hospital on ICA. I have always been very passionate about children and always wanted a career working with them. I moved to Spain then to Ireland before finally going back to the UK and working there for a few years in Child healthcare.
I now call Dubai my home and I can see myself here for the foreseeable future and progressing in my childcare career. I hold a Cached level 3 in childcare, and I will be starting my Cache level 5 in the coming months.
